Georgia O’Keeffe created images of powerful simplicity. She invited viewers to see the familiar in a new way, often enlarging the delicate structure of a flower to fill an entire canvas or distilling a vast desert landscape into a few details. Her desire “to create an equivalent for what I felt about what I was looking at” fueled her abundant creativity and distinct mode of expression.
